It comes from “Batuque” in Portuguese, which means “to drum” or “bang, beat on something”. A very common word in music here in Brazil. The idea behind Vol 2 was to approach new ways to deliver more elements that can improve your groove. There are tons of rhythmic combinations and each groove has own modded “FXed” version for more crunch. In these elements, I needed to approach a combination of sounds and put them together to create the characteristic sound.

White Noise, Hats, Toms, Drones, Reverb, Subs, Bass Snares.

Take those sounds and create some super rhythms.

Been using these methods in my own past couple of years, and it’s a great gateway to generate new ideas for grooves.
